Seeking Two Senior Accounting Advisors

Responsibilities

Provide clients with consistent and exceptionally high quality financial accounting and advisory services to address the strategic accounting and financial reporting challenges of clients’ businesses and financial functions. Obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records relating to the preparation, examination and analysis of accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports; verifying sales revenues; preparation of journal entries in QuickBooks and the preparation of complex accounting analysis and valuation of convertible debt. Prepare quarterly/annual financial statements and footnotes for public companies (Biotech/Medical Device/Technology/Media) and assist with preparing financial reports (10-Q & 10-K), including, providing general accounting support (quarterly general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries adjustment, etc.); use complex financing models (e.g. Black-Scholes model) to analyze the value of the financial instruments, e.g. options, warrants); prepare cap tables to record equity transactions and give support for preparing the S-3 Forms (securities registration). Analyze accounting for goodwill impairment. Create depreciation schedules for fixed assets and amortization schedule for patents. Use advanced Excel formulas to set up workbooks. Support annual audits and compliance reviews by working and communicating with auditors from CPA firms. For clients who have overseas subsidiaries, deal with foreign transactions and make accurate translations of foreign currency financial statements. Effectively manage complex accounting issues related to business acquisitions, including the intercompany transactions, non-controlling interest and the consolidated financial statement preparation. Prepare fresh start accounting for post-bankruptcy companies. In area of accounting research/technical accounting develop software revenue recognition; review of client contracts to ensure proper application of revenue recognition policies; complete comparable company research and analysis in Biotech industry in order to evaluate value of private companies; evaluate and assess the impact of new revenue pronouncements issued by FASB on revenue recognition and draft technical notes for the purpose of proper disclosure in the financial statement footnotes. Obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records relating to the preparation, examination and analysis of accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports; verifying sales revenues; preparation of journal entries in QuickBooks and the preparation of complex accounting analysis and valuation of convertible debt.   Supervise and provide guidance to two subordinate senior accounting associates.

Requires

Requires Master’s degree in Accounting plus minimum of 1 year experience in same or related occupation.   Must have a thorough understanding of how financial information is used and essential business management skills. 10Q prep experience essential with skills in MS Office Suite, VBA, SAP, QuickBooks.
